CANDIDATE INFORMATION

The Village of Los Ranchos Municipal Election will be held on March 6, 2018 for the purpose of electing:

One Trustee - four-year term

One Trustee - four-year term

One Municipal Judge - four-year term

 

Certified Candidates

The following individuals have filed a Declaration of Candidacy in the office of the Village Clerk on January 9, 2018, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  All candidates who filed their Declaration of Candidacy have been certified by the Village Clerk as a valid Candidate for the office in which they filed.

Certified candidates (all individuals that filed for office were certified) listed in the order in which they will appear on the ballot: 

Trustee - Two Positions (four year-term)

VOTER REGISTRATION

In order to vote in the March 6, 2018 Election, you must be registered to vote in the Village of Los Ranchos. The deadline to register or update your voter registration is February 6, 2018 at 5:00p.m.

POLL WORKERS

Who Can Apply?

  • Registered voters in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque*
  • Cannot be a candidate or related to any candidate currently on the ballot
  • Cannot be employed by law enforcement
  • Must be mentally and physically able to perform the assigned duties

Responsibilities

Election Day - Tuesday, March 6, 2018: Poll Officials must report to duty at 6 a.m. and will work until all duties are performed.

Training

Poll Officials must attend election school training prior to the election to ensure a thorough understanding of the election process, maintaining the integrity of the election, and respective roles as a poll official.  Poll officials will be paid $25 to attend election school.

UMOVA VOTING

A federal qualified elector may request a federal military-overseas ballot application with the Village Clerk by using a federal postcard application or the applications electronic equivalent, an absentee ballot application, or the declaration accompanying a federal write-in absentee ballot application.  All military-overseas ballot applications must be completed and accepted by the Village Clerk prior to 5:00 p.m., on March 2, 2018.  The Village Clerk will transmit a ballot and balloting materials to all qualified electors that submit a valid military-overseas ballot application beginning on, Saturday, January 20, 2018.  A federal qualified elector may request that the military-overseas ballot and balloting materials be sent by facsimile transmission, electronic mail delivery, or other equivalent electronic submission available.  The Village Clerk will accept valid military-overseas ballots until 7:00 p.m. on March 6, 2018.

Emergency response providers may benefit from the ability to apply for an absentee ballot and return the marked ballot in the same manner as the uniform military-overseas voter for federal qualified electors, with the exception that the emergency response provider may not use the federal postcard application or the federal write-in absentee ballot.


ABSENTEE VOTING

Absentee Voting - registered voters may request a ballot by postal mail

Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained only from the office of the Village Clerk.  The Village Clerk may accept absentee ballot applications at any time.  The Village Clerk will mail absentee ballots beginning on January 30, 2018.  Applications for an absentee ballot must be completed and accepted prior to 5:00 p.m., on March 2, 2018.

The Village Clerk will accept completed absentee ballots delivered by mail, or in person by the voter casting the absentee ballot, by a member of the voter’s immediate family, or by the caregiver to the voter until 7:00 p.m. on March 6, 2018.  


EARLY VOTING

Early Voting will be held February 14, 2018 through March 2, 2018 from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday at Village Hall.  Village Hall is located at 6718 Rio Grande Blvd. NW, Los Ranchos, NM 87107.
