Welcome to the Healers Garden

Growing Medicine, Community, and a Healing Relationship with the Land

  • The Healers Garden aims to empower community members with a season-long, land-based educational program on growing medicinal plants locally. We will cultivate a quarter-acre of medicinal herbs—including traditional Western herbs, herbs native to the southwest, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbs, and Ayurvedic herbs — supplemented with twelve workshops, monthly work parties and potlucks, and an option to have a community garden plot.

A year of gardening together can yield far more than whatever crops we harvest. The deeper yields of beauty, joy, and reconnection will always be in focus, and with all the garden’s bounty, perhaps we can find a healing path among the plants. The process of healing ourselves, and the process of healing the land, are deeply connected and this course is about finding that connection.

  • $125+tax for the year includes monthly work parties, herbs to take home, and access to all 12 medicinal herb workshops

$175+tax for the year includes monthly work parties, herbs to take home, access to all 12 medicinal herb workshops, and a plot in the Community Garden.

  • There will be twelve land-based classes and workshops offered from March through October of 2025. The schedule, subject to change, includes:

-A four-part Healer’s Garden Gardening Series, revolving around the themes of Land, Water, Air and Sun, which will take place March 6, March 27, May 22, and June 20, all from 5:30-7pm at the Agri-Nature Center. These classes will be both practical and philosophical—engaging hands, heart, and mind—and will be centered around discussions of developing a healing connection to the land through gardening.

    - There will also be eight workshops focusing on various aspects of processing and using medicinal herbs. These will include workshops on making salves; making tinctures, bitters, and mocktails; processing roots; herbal distillations; tea blends; and working with specific herbs like ashwaganda and mugwort. These eight classes will also be individually available to the public through Eventbrite at a higher price point.
